Indulge In Waitress On Broadway

Imagine diving into a fresh slice of deep dish blueberry and bacon pie that is right out of the oven, loaded up with a heaping mound of whipped cream. You can find the theatrical equivalent of this wonderful treat when you visit the Brooks Atkinson to see Jessie Mueller making headlines in the new musical called Waitress. This is a treat filled with quality ingredients for an evening that is satisfying, tasty and a real feel good delight.

This is a stage adaptation of the film by the same name that came out in 2007, which is a real charmer that fell victim to unfortunate headlines prior to the opening when Adrienne Shelley, the director/screenwriter, was found in her Greenwich Village apartment as a victim to murder. Nevertheless, the film became a surprise hit and a real audience, pleaser, making a suitable base for building the perfect musical.

Inspired by the beloved film by Adrienne Shelley, Waitress is telling the story of a waitress and expert crafter of pies named Jenna. Dreaming her way out of a small town and her loveless marriage, she learns about a baking contest in a county nearby. The new doctor in town may be able to give her the fresh start she is working toward, while the other waitresses are giving her some of their own recipes to happiness. However, Jenna has to summon the strength and the courage that she needs to start building up her life once again.

Entertainment Weekly calls Waitress a real slice of heaven, while Marie Claire calls it a monumental contribution to Broadway. Do not miss out on your opportunity to catch this musical that celebrates well made pie along with motherhood and friendship.

All of the critics are raving! One said that Waitress is filled with goodness thanks to Jessie Mueller, as she is a real honey bun that has the ability to melt the audience like mounds of butter.

There are also notable distinctions in the wonderful pop score that is crafted by Sara Bareilles, who is a singer and songwriter who is confident about her composing debut on Broadway.

The best part of this show has to be Mueller as Jenna the piemaker. She won a Tony award for her role in the musical Beautiful as Carole King. She is wonderful for bringing together a mixture of dreaminess, sexiness, earthiness and timidity with a voice that is rich with emotion. Hello Dolly Tickets! Bette Midler Returned to Broadway.
